Shannon’s Jewelry

Ken Roye is a fixture on the square in downtown Pontotoc. He’s been working at Shannon’s Jewelry since 1964, and he’s owned the store for about 20 years.

Shannon’s is next door to Shannon & Graham Eye Clinic.

“The old doctor (Dr. Shannon) there, he was an optometrist as well as a a jeweler,” Roye said. “It was very common.”

Shannon trained Roye’s uncle, who in turn trained Roye.

Roye specializes in watch and jewelry repairs.

“We have fixed everything from garage door openers to fishing reels to eyeglasses from next door,” Roye said. We’re a jack of all trades. We try to do anything our customers ask us.”

Shannon’s carries jewelry for men, women and children. It sells rings, earrings, bracelets, necklaces, pendants, lockets, watches and clocks. Plus, it cleans, services and resizes jewelry and watches.

Roye runs the store with his sister, Judy Caffee.
