She spoke with The Clarion-Ledger from Hollywood on Friday, a day after she was eliminated from the show.
As her exit song, she rocked the house with Miranda Lambert's "Gunpowder and Lead." She says she was thinking how much she'd miss everyone on the show — but also that she could soon go home and see her family and friends.
Laine says 'Idol' has made her more determined to have a career in country music. She says she's ready to make an album, and sing and write the kind of songs she wants to.
