We would welcome such policing of Interstate 10. As the Sun Herald has reported, nearly 90,000 vehicles per day have been counted on Interstate 10 near its intersection with Interstate 110. Some help has arrived with the assignment of additional Mississippi Highway Patrol officers. Even more help would be available if the Mississippi Legislature would give sheriffs along the Coast the power to use radar.
Until more is done, we will continue to live with, according to a report in The Daily Beast last year, the 27th deadliest section of interstate highway in the nation.
