MERIDIAN, Miss. (AP) — A $100,000 grant has been awarded to the Meridian Public Safety Training Facility for law enforcement and search and rescue training.

The Meridian Star reports the grant was presented by the Mississippi Office of Homeland Security.

Tim Miller, director of Meridian's homeland security department, said the grant funding will be used for instruction in police and fire services as well as for training in emergency services for other local agencies.
