GUNTOWN – A parent of a Guntown Middle School student was arrested on Wednesday morning and charged with disorderly conduct and public profanity.

Michele Lee Eaton, 39, of Saltillo was also tazed by the school resource officer at around 8 a.m. Eaton bonded out at around 10 a.m.

“The parent was upset because the child was disciplined,” said Lee County Superintendent Jimmy Weeks, who noted the child's punishment did not involve corporal punishment.

Weeks said the parent was irate and met with Guntown Principal Steven Havens and began to use profanity in the office. The school resource officer was brought in and asked her to stop using profanity but she continued to do so, Weeks said.

“When he told her she was under arrest, she became more irate and he used the Taser on her,” Weeks said.
