FULTON – Two people sent Mississippi and Alabama law enforcement on a chase in a wooded area on Tuesday night.

Fulton police attempted to stop a vehicle at the intersection of Highways 25 and 78 in the city limits around 8:30 p.m. when the car didn’t stop. Itawamba County and Mississippi Highway Patrol joined a high-speed pursuit of the car and it led them into Marion County, Ala.

According to Itawamba County Sheriff Chris Dickinson, when near Marion County Road 325, the car’s two occupants left the car and ran on a wooded logging road.

Dickinson said the car’s passenger had been arrested and charges would be coming. The car’s driver, Michael Dykes, 29, of Pearl, eluded an Itawamba K9 unit until about 10:45 p.m., when he was found and arrested.
