Officials at Mississippi State and Loyola are discussing a men’s basketball series to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the 1963 NCAA regional game between the schools.

The Detroit Free Press reported that Michigan State would like to play host to the game at Jenison Field House, site of the 1963 NCAA Mideast Regional semifinal. The Columbus Dispatch confirmed that MSU and Loyola are instead discussing a home-and-home series.

According to reports, the teams would play in Chicago in December, then meet in Starkville in late 2013.

Mississippi State defied a court order prohibiting the NCAA tournament game against a team with black players, sneaking out of Starkville to board a private flight to Michigan. The game was played on March 7, 1963 and the Chicago school won 61-51.

Loyola went on to win its only Division I basketball title.
