Old Glory on West Main Street adds pride to city

Flag Day is today, June 14, and we wish to personally thank the owner of the West Main Street flag pole/cell tower for the addition to our city.

Since this pole was erected, we have a new pride in our All America City.

We both look forward to seeing the colossal Old Glory flying high each and every day, and we thank the owners for diligence in seeing that worn flags are replaced.

This year is also the 200th anniversary of the composition of the Star Spangled Banner, from which come the words, “And the Star Spangled Banner in triumph shall wave, o’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.” So may it ever be!
