This rendering depicts what a two-story pavilion will look like at
Tupelo’s City Park. The tennis pavilion will provide an observation
deck and serve as a tournament headquarters.
In addition to being a Tupelo Tennis star, Dave put Ole Miss tennis in the national spotlight with a combination of stellar play and outstanding sportsmanship. For this, in 1989, he received the Rafael Osuna Sportsmanship Award, the NCAA's yearly award presented to the most outstanding collegiate tennis player that demonstrates both great skill and exemplifies sportsmanship.
The Mississippi native was a two-time All-Southeastern Conference selection and an All-America honoree in doubles. He teamed with Jamie Booras to earn a top 10 ranking two years and reach the quarterfinals of the NCAA Doubles Championships in 1988. He, joined Booras as the first tennis All-Americans at the University.
He won three SEC titles in his career at Ole Miss: the 1988 #1 singles crown, the 1987 indoor #2 doubles and the 1986 #3 doubles. In addition, Randall earned Academic All-SEC honors in 1987 and 1988.
On the ATP Tour he won three Doubles Titles; 1992 Scottsdale (Mark Keil), 1993 Scottsdale (Mark Keil), and 1997 Coral Springs (Greg Van Emburgh). He reached the quarters at the 1993 U.S. Open in doubles and has four singles wins over top 25 ATP players including former #1 Thomas Muster.
Randall is currently the Head Pro at River Hills Club in Jackson, Miss.
