Houston and Alcorn Central high schools have named new head football coaches.

Houston named offensive coordinator Billy Cook as its new head football coach. Cook, who was approved Tuesday night, has spent eight years as

an assistant for the Hilltoppers, the only stop in his career.

“I’m excited about it. We’re looking forward to continue progressing on what we’ve been doing and winning a playoff game,” Cook said. “The players have set that as a goal.”

Alcorn Central named former Belmont and Kossuth assistant Jeff Boren head coach.
