Former Mississippi State guard Rodney Hood will pick a new school on Tuesday, according to BuckeyeSports.com.

Hood is reportedly debating on whether to transfer to

Ohio State or Duke.

Hood, a former Mr. Basketball and Meridian native, only played for the Bulldogs for one season. From Day 1, Hood was a starter for State.

He averaged 10.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game. He shot 44.3 percent from the field, including 36.4 percent from 3-point range.

Hood stayed on campus this spring after announcing his decision to leave the Bulldogs on April 8. Incoming coach Rick Ray was unable to convince Hood to stay.

The Bulldogs lost seven of their last nine games, fell in the first round of the SEC Tournament, and failed to earn an NCAA tourney at-large bid.

They finished 21-12 after a loss to UMass in the first round of the NIT.
