Luckett to speak at Tupelo Film Alliance

“Filmmaking in Mississippi: Nuts & Bolts” is the topic of Bill Luckett’s speech he’ll give at this month’s Tupelo Film Alliance meeting.

Luckett, an entertainment lawyer, will speak at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Tupelo Convention and Visitors Bureau.

‘Faces of the World’ exhibit begins in August at GumTree

Tupelo-based Southern Light Photography’s “Faces of the World” exhibit, which includes more than 500 images of faces from around the world, opens at the GumTree Museum of Art next Thursday and runs through Aug. 31.

The opening reception is Aug. 2 at 6 p.m. It’s free.

Organizers with the annual Haunted Theater at The Lyric hope to make this year the best yet.

‘Broadway 7’ on stage this weekend at civic center

The seventh edition of the musical revue series, “Broadway 7: The House is Rockin’,” is this weekend in New Albany.

The show includes older favorites like “Midnight Train to Georgia” by Gladys Knight and the Pips and Journey’s “Any Way You Want It” and newer hits like “Fallin’ for You” by Colbie Callait and “Steal Your Rock ‘n’ Roll” from the musical “Memphis.”

The show takes the stage at the Magnolia Civic Center at 7:30 p.m. tonight-Saturday.

Tickets are $10.
