ABERDEEN - Minnie Carr Williams pleaded not guilty Monday to federal charges she stole Social Security payments she knew she wasn't entitled to.

Williams, 63, of Riverdale, Ga., was indicted July 24 on charges she took about $141,541 and intentionally concealed and failed to report the death of Elizabeth Strong in Clay County.

If convicted in both counts, she faces up to 15 years in prison and $500,000 fines.

Her trial is set to begin Oct. 29 before District Judge Sharion Aycock.
