CORINTH – Corinth city employees will receive a 5 percent pay raise under the city’s Fiscal Year 2013 budget which was adopted on Tuesday.

There will be no tax increase.

The Board of Aldermen voted to approve the $9.96 million budget, where most city departments have trimmed expenses while keeping most outside agency budgets level.

The Corinth Area Convention and Visitors Bureau/Tourism Council budget, which must be approved by the city and county, is addressed in the budget with an asterisk beside the agency’s $567,000 budget request.

As approved, the budget says the tourism council’s 1 percent share of the 2 percent tourism tax will be transferred to the CVB, but $250,000 must be allocated to the Crossroads Arena and $50,000 must be allocated to previously funded events.
