FAA spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen says the Cessna 172 crashed about 11:30 a.m. near the Matherville community outside Shubuta.WDAM-TV reports 30-year-old pilot was airlifted to University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson after being treated at a hospital in Waynesboro.
The plane is registered to Freddie McCall of Brewton, Ala. The hospital says McCall was being treated in the emergency room Wednesday evening, only describing his condition as “stable.”
