HAMILTON - A one vehicle accident occurred on Highway 45 in Monroe County about one-half mile from the Lowndes county line at 1:13 a.m. Thursday morning. According to an eyewitness, A white 2010 Hyundai Elantra was traveling south when it left the road and crossed over the north bound lanes before entering a pond on the east side of the highway.
At 5:21 am, a rescue team recovered body of Antonio Moore, 38, who resided at Falcon Lair Apartments in Columbus. Alan Gurley, Monroe County Coroner, removed the body from the scene and upon further investigation cause of death was determined to be freshwater drowning.
