Before 1870, Alcorn, Prentiss and Tishomingo were all together as Tishomingo County, so they share much of their history and genealogy.
Records for the pre-1870 Jacinto Courthouse are housed now in Alcorn County, which is where Jacinto and Rienzi are now located.
Activities for the daylong event include free participation to visit vendors.
A registration fee of $20 is required to attend the seminars offered by several speakers.
Those who did not pre-register by Sept. 30 are advised to bring lunch, as box lunches at the seminars will not be available the day of the fair.
Seminars topics include: Beginning Genealogy (Finding Folks); Journey to the Bottom of the Barrel: What You Might Do When You Hit a Brick Wall; Blue & Gray, Black & White: Basics of Civil War Research; and How to Get Published.
