Congratulations to the Lady Tiger fastpitch team for defeating Louisville 11-0 for their first division win last week, and for defeating Houston 8-6 for another division win. The ladies also won all three games in the TSA Classic Tournament defeating Pontotoc, Hamilton and Tupelo. Way to go, girls.
Basketball championship T-shirts will be sold until Friday. They are $15 each. We should have samples this week if you would like to see one.
All yearbook deposits were due Feb. 1. We have sent out notices to all that still owe. We will be glad to talk with you if you have any questions or concerns. We ask that you get your balance in before spring break. The yearbooks should arrive sometime in May.

SALTILLO HIGH School
Nine weeks tests will be given Thursday at Saltillo High. Next week, SHS will be on spring break. Students will return on Monday, March 23. Report cards will go out to all students on Thursday, March 26. The English II State Writing Test will also be given on March 26.
Tiger basketball season has ended and the teams had a productive season. The girls ended with a record of 19-9. The team seniors are Arlana McKinney, Monica Davenport and Tiffany Morris. The team's leading scorers for the year are Carley Bryson and Tia Coleman. The coaches are Coach Eddie Moreland and Coach Tonya Moreland. The boys had a season record of 8-20. Although the season brought a losing record, the boys played with heart and entertained the crowd with several close games, including a 63-62 win over Booneville. Joe Cheatham hit a free throw with 0.4 second left on the clock to seal the defeat against the Blue Devils. There were no seniors on this year's team, but the leading scorers are Trevor Boren and Pregon Staples. Jason Arledge is the team's coach.
The SHS choir competed in a choral contest Feb. 19. The group received the highest rating - superior. The students are Ann Marie Blake, Katie Bostick, Kayla Brown, Kathryn Crowe, Ethan Duffie, Levi Grammer, Qierra Green, Ben Kimbrel, Akia Lamar, Brittany Littlejohn, Megan Lyons, Christopher McKee, Rebekah Pate, Mallory Trotter, Daniel Clark, Cody Gates, T.J. Guyton, Lauren Hinds, Matthew Knight, Caitlin Pate, Amelia Roa, Barbara Trimmel and Windin Glilland. The choir director is Mrs. Linda Kay Price. She has been assisted this semester by student intern Cory Bolen.
Coach Cherry is proud to announce the members of the 2009 Tiger golf team. The varsity boys players are Bryson Kimbrough, Adam Hall, Bobby Parks, John Michael Parker, Zac Barrett and Austin Hill. The varsity girls members are Mackenzie Koehn, Miranda Chapman, Chelsea Stacks and Charlotte Crooks. The junior varsity boys players are Conner Holliman, Case Knight, Jalon Mansell, Dillon Hall and Jacob Underwood.

Tupelo High School
At THS, you will find that almost every student is involved in something. Thanks to this buzz of activities, our schedule is busting at the seams with sports games and choral competitions, not to mention upcoming exams.
The Tupelo Lady Wave ended their season Feb. 28 at the state tournament. They lost to Hattiesburg by a final score of 59-50. Their season record was 26-7.
Wave Connection and Soundwave show choirs went to Petal on Feb. 28. Wave Connection won several awards including First Place Overall and Best Female Solo - Zoe Kelly. Soundwave won second place in the Female Division.
The freshman baseball team recently won both games in a doubleheader against New Hope, 14-3 and 11-4.
THS Drumline, also known as Riptide, won first place this weekend at a competition in Southaven.
The 2009 prom is quickly approaching. It will take place on March 28. More information is yet to be announced.
Even when the hallways are filled with exam worries and spring break plans, THS extracurricular activities are still going strong.
