Two state inmates with Northeast Mississippi connections at large

Forrest County Community Work Center inmates James Robert Martin and David Bass left from the Hattiesburg facility at about 5 p.m. today. Both men have connections to Northeast Mississippi.

Both inmates were last seen wearing MDOC state-issued green and white striped pants and white MDOC shirts with “MDOC Convict” printed on the back.

Authorities are searching for Martin, a 22-year-old white male with blue eyes, blonde hair and weighing about 150 pounds. Martin is serving a five-year sentence for a conviction of grand larceny from Monroe County.

Bass is a 26-year-old white male with blue eyes, blonde hair and weighing 180 pounds. Bass is serving a seven-year sentence for five convictions of burglary from Lee County.

Anyone with any information or sightings of Martin or Bass should contact local law enforcement or Mississippi Department of Corrections at 662-745-6611.
