OXFORD – Memphis’ Federal Correctional Institution is where Tupelo businessman Ray Shoemaker is ordered to serve his 55-month sentence from a health care kickback/bribery case conviction.

Tuesday, the U.S. Bureau of Prisons designated the all-male facility in northeast Memphis, near the intersection of Interstate 40 and Sycamore View Road. It includes a medium-security facility and a satellite camp for minimum-security offenders.

Shoemaker was ordered to surrender by 2 p.m. Nov. 1.

He insists he is not guilty of the charges and has asked the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals to throw out his convictions.
