Woman sentenced in Marshall County manslaughter

Today, Thursday, Nov. 1, at 1 p.m., at the Tippah County Courthouse in Ripley, Circuit Court Judge Robert W. Elliott sentenced Denorris Howell.

On Sept. 11, 2012, Howell, 29, of 5514 Old Highway 7 South, Waterford, Mississippi, was convicted of manslaughter by a Marshall County jury in the July 27, 2010 shooting death of Lakeith "Kee Kee" Jones of Holly Springs.

Howell was sentenced to 20 years in prison, composed of 17 years to serve and three years suspended, with three years post-release supervision. No mention in records of fine or court costs.
