• Ole Miss offensive lineman Robert Conyers was arrested Thursday night and charged with first-offense DUI and driving without headlights, Oxford-CrimeReport.com has reported.

Conyers is a 6-foot-3, 277-pound freshman from Miami, Fla. He is being redshirted this season.

• Booneville senior forward Kenny Paul Geno is the only area player on the Clarion-Ledger’s Dandy Dozen for boys basketball. Mooreville is the Ledger’s No. 1-ranked Class 3A team.

• Mooreville’s basketball home season opener scheduled for tonight has been postponed and moved to Nov. 17. The Troopers open their season

Thursday, hosting Tupelo.

• East Mississippi CC hosts Copiah-Lincoln and Gulf Coast hosts Northwest today in the opening round of the MACJC football state playoffs. Both games kick off at 2 p.m.
