On Monday, the CVB announced it has hired Jan Pannell of Sprint Print and Jennie Bradford Curlee of the Community Development Foundation.
Pannell will be the CVB’s sales manager for the corporate, religious and fraternal markets. Curlee will be the CVB’s public relations manager and manager of international sales.
Both positions were created this year as part of a research study conducted by Young Strategies.
“When our research showed that we need to place more emphasis on corporate sales and public relations, we made the shift in our organizational structure to accommodate new positions,” said Neal McCoy, executive director of the Tupelo CVB. “We are thrilled to have Jan and Jennie Bradford join our staff. They are both outstanding in their fields.”
Pannell currently is the sales manager at Sprint Print, where she has been employed for the last 20 years. Her first day at the CVB is Nov. 13.
“It is a change, but sales are sales and sales are about relationships,” Pannell said after Monday’s board meeting. “I’ve made lots of good contacts and relationships that I think will help me in this position.”
She is a graduate of the University of Mississippi and lives in New Albany. She is active with the United Way, the Downtown Tupelo Main Street Association and the Tupelo Elvis Festival.
Curlee currently is the director of corporate communications for the Community Development Foundation, where she has been an employee for almost nine years. Her first day at the CVB will be Nov. 26.
“It’s another chance to serve my community in a different capacity,” she said Monday.
Curlee is a graduate of the University of Alabama and lives in Tupelo. She is active with the Tupelo Young Professionals and is the current president of the Public Relations Association of Mississippi’s Northeast chapter.
David Rumbarger, CEO of the Community Development Foundation, said Monday the organization hasn’t made a decision whether it will fill Curlee’s position after her departure Nov. 15.
