Tupelo’s Alex Toppin is off to a big start for the Broome Community College hockey team in Binghamton, N.Y., with four goals and four assists in his first four games.

Toppin, a sophomore, was introduced to hockey when the T-Rex was still playing in Tupelo.

Broome (3-1) defeated Erie Community College 2-1 in overtime in its most recent match. Toppin had an assist.

In an 8-2 win over Mohawk Valley on Oct. 24, Toppin had three goals and two assists.

The team’s season runs through early February.
