SALTILLO – Saltillo firefighters and first responders have more options when it comes to saving lives with the addition of two new automated external defibrillators to the Saltillo Fire Department.

Saltillo Fire Chief Mark Nowell and the Saltillo Board of Aldermen accepted the donation from RockTenn, a corrugated consumer packaging company with a Saltillo location.

The $1,800 AEDs will be placed at the homes of two Saltillo volunteer firefighters, one in the northern part of the city and one in the west.

There also is an AED on each of the city’s two fire trucks and one at the Saltillo Sportsplex.
