TUPELO - A Booneville man has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in Wednesday's three car crash on Highway 45.

Phillip Hobgood, 40, of Booneville, was charged after allegedly using his vehicle to force another car off the highway.

Guntown Police Chief Michael Hall said one of the victims, who was ejected when her car flipped off the road, was allegedly in a dispute with Hobgood.

Hobgood's bond was set by Lee County Justice Court Judge Pat Carr at $1 million.

Hall said three people were taken to the North Mississippi Medical Center with injuries sustained in the crash and two males have since been released.

The female, who was airlifted after being ejected from her vehicle, is still at the hospital.

Hobgood remains in the Lee County Adult Jail.
