WCBI-TV in Columbus reports that Harry Moss Kitchens died in 1966 while serving as squad leader. Kitchens was wounded in the arm and head during sniper fire but still managed to lead his men into a fight before falling unconscious and dying.
He was posthumously awarded the Silver Star, his second Purple Heart and several others for his bravery and sacrifice.
Kitchens' family attended the ceremony Sunday renaming the veterans chapter.
