Melvin Westbrook, 47, of Oxford, was charged in the burglary of a Chickasaw Road residence.
He was charged after being pulled over by Oxford police during a routine traffic stop Monday, according to a press release from the police department.
He is in the Lafayette County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
