Oxford man accused of home burglary

OXFORD – An Oxford man has been charged in a burglary that took place Nov. 1.

Melvin Westbrook, 47, of Oxford, is accused in the burglary of a Chickasaw Road residence.

He was charged after being pulled over by Oxford police during a routine traffic stop Monday.

He was in the Lafayette County Detention Center on Tuesday awaiting a bond hearing.
