Lady Rebels win to go 2-0 under Brett Frank

Diarra Moore and Tia Faleru each scored 13 points and Valencia McFarland added 12 Friday as the Ole Miss women beat Northwestern State 67-51 in the annual Kids’ Day Game.

The win makes interim coach Brett Frank the second person, along with Van Chancellor, to win his first two games at the helm for the Lady Rebels.

Northwestern State took a 16-9 lead midway through the first half but Ole Miss went on a 26-8 run through the rest of the first half and never looked back.

The Rebels (2-0) host Lamar at 7 p.m.

MISSISSIPPI STATE 57, LOUISIANA TECH 55: In Starkville, MSU’s Darriel Gaynor’s jumper with 57 seconds broke a tie and Brittany

Lewis missed a potential game winning three point at the buzzer.

La. Tech led by as many as 10 in the second half before MSU

began its comeback. Kendra Grant has 20 points to lead the

winning Bulldogs.

Lewis led the visitors with 20 points.

SOUTH ALABAMA 67, SOUTHERN MISS 65:

Jamierra Faulkner scored 23 points and Jerontay Clemons 21 for the Golden Eagles, but Clemons’ attempt at a tying shot at the buzzer was no good.
