Lady Bulldogs host Savannah, try to snap three-game skid

STARKVILLE – After losing three games in Mexico, Mississippi State’s women try to bounce back tonight at home against Savannah State.

Tipoff at Humphrey Coliseum is set for 7 p.m.

The Lady Bulldogs (2-4) lost to Winthrop, UC Santa Barbara and Central Florida in Puerto Vallarta, averaging just 52.7 points in those games. MSU has broken the 60-point mark only once this season.

Leading the way for State are Martha Alwal (15.7 points, 10.3 rebounds per game) and Kendra Grant (15.2 ppg, 4.3 rpg).

Savannah State (2-3), of the MEAC, is coming off a 58-56 win over Talladega. The Tigers are led by Andrietta Thomas, who’s averaging 14.2 points.

OLE MISS 62, MVSU 60: Mississippi Valley missed a 3-pointer at game’s end and Ole Miss improved to 3-1 with the homecourt victory.

The Rebels’ Diara Moore led all players with 15 points, Valencia McFarland added 12 and Danielle McCray recorded her first double-double, 11 points and 12 rebounds

Ole Miss will host Lipscomb on Thursday at 7 p.m.
