Robert Walker Davis, 29, of Byhalia, and 24-year old Casey Hamilton are each charged with one count of burglary and receiving stolen property. The two are also the prime suspects in an attempted burglary in Benton County.
Additionally, the woman was questioned by Fayette, Tenn., authorities in connection with the sale of a stolen TV set, Tippah Chief Deputy Chris McCallister said this week.
The two are charged with taking the generator from a Miss. 4 residence earlier this week. Tippah authorities were alerted, and soon found a black Dodge Dakota fitting the suspect vehicle’s description stopped with a flat tire on Miss. 4 West.
The pair was taken into custody without incident after deputies found the stolen generator in the truck bed.
The man gave authorities a false ID, using the name and other information of a friend of his. Although the false name was similar to Davis’ name, authorities soon saw through it. Like Davis, the friend also had a criminal history. Davis’ fingerprints -- on file due to an extensive criminal history – revealed his true identity. Records indicate he’s wanted in Hernando (Miss.), Memphis and Shelby County Tenn.) in connection with thefts, Wyoming, and Colorado, where he’s also accused of stealing a vehicle, McCallister said.
