SHANNON – Two 18-wheelers collided on Highway 45 Alt. on Monday morning, sending one driver to the hospital.

It is unclear exactly what happened, but the cab of a Max Trans 18-wheeler was destroyed and the back end of a truck driver training school 18-wheeler was damaged. Paramedics worked on the driver of the Max Trans truck for a while before he was airlifted to the hospital.

No word on the driver of the other truck driver.

The accident occurred in the northbound lane and was called in at 11:01 a.m. Debris from the Max Trans truck, which was hauling bricks, was scattered across the lane.
