Alcorn supervisors OK veteran wreath gift

CORINTH – Alcorn County supervisors on Monday approved a $1,000 donation to the Wreaths Across America program to place wreaths on graves of veterans at Corinth National Cemetery.

Carlean Parker of American Legion Post 6 ladies auxiliary made the request on behalf of the post.

The wreath-laying ceremony is scheduled for 11 a.m. Dec. 15.

The post goal is to lay 7,500 wreaths, and others may sponsor a wreath for a cost of $15 each.

Specific grave orders also may be requested for Corinth National Cemetery.
