Do you dream about a cure for diabetes? Make plans today to attend the Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi’s Annual Super Conference on Jan. 19. It is one of the state’s premier health events, bringing together a blend of both national and local diabetes experts – many of whom live with diabetes themselves – along with vendors from all over to showcase the latest in diabetes management technology and services.
Dr. Richard deShazo, professor of Medicine and Pediatrics, University of Mississippi Medical Center and MPB’s host of Southern Remedy, will be a keynote speaker for the Super Conference. DeShazo will discuss the epidemic of diabetes and how to prevent it from reaching our children.
Della Matheson, RN, CDE from TrialNet, University of Miami Clinical Center for Type 1 Diabetes, will discuss where research currently stands and what progress is being made. Former NFL player Marcus Dupree will talk about tackling diabetes (his own). This is but a snapshot of the incredible speakers who will speak at the Super Conference, all of whom will bring a unique perspective and additional knowledge to the table.
