Delta State baseball No. 2 in preseason poll

Delta State, defending Gulf South Conference champions, are No. 2 in the Collegiate Baseball preseason NCAA Division II poll released Wednesday.

The Statesmen went 49-15 last season and return six starters from a team that finished second in the D-II College World Series.

Senior Jordan Moore of Calhoun City, who went 8-1 with a 3.08 ERA last season, is among the team’s returning pitchers.

DSU opens its season Feb. 8 at home against Montevallo.
