Mississippi State's rough non-SEC slate wraps up today at Humphrey Coliseum.

The young Bulldogs (4-7) play host to New Orleans (3-8) at 6 p.m., and the game will be televised on CSS. It's the ninth meeting between the schools, with MSU holding a 7-1 advantage in the series.

MSU is coming off a 59-57 home loss to Alabama A&M, a low point for a team that's been beset by injuries. The good news is that junior guard Jalen Steele is playing his second game since returning from a wrist injury.

Against Alabama A&M, Steele came off the bench to score 10 points. He adds experience to a squad that currently has seven healthy scholarship players and a starting lineup featuring three freshmen and two sophomores.

Roquez Johnson leads MSU in scoring with 12.2 points per game.

New Orleans, coached by Mark Slessinger, has lost three in a row and hasn't played since a 67-51 loss to Boise State on Dec. 23.

Lovell Cook leads UNO with 13.9 points per game.
