Luke Doehner, whose second board term had just begun, was elected by the former board as board president in December. He was one of five joint city/county appointees approved by the Corinth board on Friday.
Pauline Sorrell, who began a new appointment to the board in November, also was reappointed to a joint city/county seat.
Other new members on the board include city/county appointees Billy Taylor of Taylor’s Escape restaurant, Danny Timmons of Little Foods and Russell Smith of Russell’s Beef House.
The city’s independent appointee is Laura Albright and the county’s appointee has yet to be named.
Alcorn County supervisors will meet at 9 a.m. Monday in regular session and are expected to consider ratifying the joint appointees approved by the Corinth board.
All seven former board members were removed Wednesday in a joint meeting of Alcorn supervisors and Corinth aldermen, who said they had lost confidence in the tourism council board members because they had not followed a fiscal year 2013 line item budget set by the joint board.
The former board members are Doehner, Sorrell, Chris Porterfield of Coca-Cola, Rickey Marecle of Hampton Inn, Glennan Grady, Judge John Ross and Phil Little.
An immediate task for the new board will be accepting resignations of Executive Director Kristy White and project coordinator Karen Beth Martin, who tendered her resignation on Friday.
