Shannon man charged with having marijuana

SHANNON – Eric E. Gates of Shannon is charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of non-tax-paid moonshine.

Bond for Gates, 41, was set at $75,000. His charges were enhanced because he was allegedly in possession of firearms while intending to sell the marijuana.

Lee County Sheriff Jim Johnson said they will seek charged of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon charges because Gates has a prior felony conviction.
