Court records say 57-year-old Ethelene Pridgeon entered the guilty plea in U. S. District Court in Aberdeen on Oct. 30.
A grand jury indictment handed down in April says Pridgeon received over $53,000 in survivor benefits from August of 2001 to May of 2008.
The indictment accuses her of taking the money even though she knew she was not entitled to it.
The count carries a maximum 10 years in prison.
