BAY SPRINGS – Crude oil is gushing into a creek near Bay Springs after one of the area’s many pipelines burst.

Jasper County Emergency Management Agency got a call about 3 p.m. Tuesday about an unknown amount of oil spilling into the creek.

No one at the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency could be reached for comment.

Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality spokesman Robbie Wilbur said they dispatched a clean-up crew to the site shortly after 4 p.m.

The pipeline is owned by Plains All-American Pipeline.
