BOONEVILLE – For the past handful of seasons, the Ripley and Belmont girls have dominated Division 1-3A.

“This was a big game because of what it means to us,” Booneville head coach Bart Greenhaw said. “No question we’ve fought the last couple of years getting over the intimidation of playing Ripley and Belmont.

“Tonight, we kept our composure, and made a little run at the end.”

Booneville then survived posessions by Belmont (16-8, 2-2) in the closing seconds.

“We didn’t finish the game,” Belmont coach Chris Higginbottom said. “Defensively, we didn’t do the job, we got beat on defense and rebounding.”
