Everyone born after Jan. 1, 1972 is required to complete a hunter education course before purchasing a Mississippi hunting license. Also, anyone between 12 and 16 years old must have a hunter education certificate before hunting alone in Mississippi.
An alternative to taking the standard hunter education class is the official Mississippi Hunter Education Internet Course. The internet course allows the student to do all but the last three hours of the work online. The last three hours of the online hunter education course are regularly available at MDWFP regional offices.
