Investigators have arrested Jamiah Lee, 20, and Quentin Clifton, 27, both of Fulton, and charged each with grand larceny. The two men are accused of stealing numerous television sets from the Walmart Supercenter on Interchange Drive in Fulton in late January.
According to Brad Rogers of the Fulton Police Department, the suspects were identified using video surveillance footage captured at the retail store. Both suspects have received their initial appearances before Justice Court Judge Harold Holcomb. Their bonds were set at $5,000 each.
Walmart is currently working with local police to discover how the televisions were being taken from the store. Neither of the charged suspects is an employee of the store.
“We’re certain this is not an embezzlement situation,” Rogers said of the arrests.
Police are not certain of the exact number of televisions that have been stolen.
Rogers said investigators worked with one of the suspects to recover six of the stolen sets, which are estimated at a combined total of more than $3,500. The televisions were recovered from various locations both inside and outside Itawamba County.
The investigation is ongoing with the possibility of more arrests.
