Danny Pettit, of 290 Old Airport Road, Pontotoc, was apparently killed when his car left the road and struck a culvert on Highway 341 about a half mile south of Montgomery Road, said investigating Highway Patrol Officer Philip Mitchell.
Mitchell said that Pettit was alone in the vehicle.
“We got the call about 6:30 a.m., when someone discovered the car and called it in,” Mitchell said.
