IUKA – A woman involved in a head-on collision in Iuka on Feb. 13 died Friday.

Maria M. Ramsey, 42, of Iuka, died around 2:30 a.m. in the hospital Friday.

Three others were injured in the crash on Highway 172.

Highway Patrol Trooper Ray Hall said an investigation shows Ramsey was traveling westbound on Highway 172 when she apparently collided with a 2007 Ford Explorer driving by Amber Thornton, 19, of Cherokee, Ala.

Thornton and two passengers were also hospitalized. Their conditions were unknown Friday.

Hall said all of Thornton’s passengers were properly restrained. It is unclear if Ramsey was restrained because the vehicle burned in the crash.
