The CLASH of the Arts camp will be held in the Christian Life Center at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Tupelo from Monday, March 11 to Saturday, March 16. It is open to students in kindergarten to eighth grade. Cost is $25, with allowances for students whose families can not afford the fee.
Camp hours are 5 to 9:30 p.m. during the week, with dinner included. Campers will make artwork and learn dances and songs. They also will be introduced to five cultures: Indian, African, Hispanic, Native American and Chinese, said Stephanie Green Stubbs. Stubbs organized the first-year camp along with Wendy Edmonds.
The Tupelo Police Department will provide tips on gun safety, and campers will be given information about health and hygiene.
The camp concludes with a multicultural festival in Gumtree Park on March 16 from noon to 7 p.m.
CLASH stands for Creative Learning Ability Strength in Harmony.
