The school district approved its 2013-14 school calendar during a school board meeting last week. The last day for students will be May 23, 2014, and graduation will be held on May 24.
Teachers will report for four days of professional development from Aug. 1 to Aug. 6. Thursday, Aug. 1 will be the annual Industry Education Day.
Students and teachers will again have three full weekends during Christmas break. The last day of classes for the first semester is Friday, Dec. 20, and students return on Tuesday, Jan. 7. Teachers must report on Jan. 6.
Other holidays include Labor Day (Sept. 2), Columbus Day (Oct. 14), Thanksgiving (Nov. 25-29), Martin Luther King Day (Jan. 20), Spring Break (March 10-14) and Easter (April 18-21).
Oct. 15 and Feb. 17 have both been set aside for professional development for teachers. That means students will have a four-day weekend from Oct. 12 to 15.
The last day of each semester, Dec. 20 and May 23, will be an early dismissal day. Snow days include Feb. 17 and April 21.
