The legislation was killed Monday, but Wednesday the House leadership garnered enough votes to pass it 62.55. The bill now goes back to the Senate.
That chamber has passed legislation to require people to garner a specified number of signatures to hold a vote on whether to maintain their elected superintendent opposed to having one appointed by the Board of Education.
