OXFORD – The anticipated March start of intercity bus service for Oxford has been rescheduled for August.

Isaac Astill, director of parking and transportation services at the University of Mississippi, said Wednesday that Megabus’ route from Memphis to New Orleans, which would also stop in Oxford and Jackson, has been delayed until the start of the fall semester.

“Megabus has all intention of coming,” Astill told fellow members of the Oxford-University Transit Commission. “They just realize to start up in March and then have half the population disappear in the summer is not the most feasible way to start.”
